For many, the last few months have been difficult and stressful.
Locked-down and quarantined, social gatherings with family and friends have been minimal. We've had to turn to other interests to channel our energy. For some of us, that's meant pursuing new hobbies or rediscovering old ones.
My quarantine hobby has been baking.

Spending more time in the kitchen has helped me realize how much baking can teach us about pursuing one's financial goals:
1. Have a recipe: Put a roadmap in place that helps you visualize the end result. Ensure you have all the right ingredients and proper tools.
2. Follow the directions: Execute the steps of your plan and use it as a guide for when times get difficult.
3. Sit tight: Avoid opening the oven and poking around. Trust the work you've done and give your creation time to grow.
4. Enjoy: When the time comes, enjoy the fruits of your labor.
In both baking and pursuing financial goals, having a plan and sticking to it is your recipe for success. There's no better time than now to get to work!
